Dear friends in Australia, Singapore, China, South Africa, USA and Brazil, we hope you are all well.
After almost two month in our orphanage in Ghana, West Africa, I would like to address a note to all of you. After a short time of health problems end of January Doris and I are doing fine. The workload is high and a lot of projects are to be managed and coordinated. Up to know we were able to support the children in many ways and I am sure when we will go back to Germany in July we can say that we could sustainably improve the living conditions of the orphants. We are not getting money for our work but the shining eyes of the children every day is compensation enough. We know that we are needed and are happy to support.
As we do not have light in all areas of the orphanage the next big project is the installation of electricity. At the moment we take some power from neighbours using really dangerous cable connections. As it is getting dark at about six p.m. the children will then have light for their dinner and evening preparation for the next school day. Another big step forward.
I would like to apologize that I do all my blog-entries in German language. However, I am sure all of you are able to manage the translation and stay informed. Due to extremely slow internet data lines in our region entries are taking a lot of time.
